Tournament Results

Team GD Jiu-Jitsu is the most active Nova Uniao branch in the United States. At least half of the nearly 200 students are active competitors winning State, National, and International BJJ titles. The GD team has been able to win the Team title at the AZ State BJJ Championship 6 times in a row (2006 to 2011) and taken top 3 spots at the US Nationals from 2006-2010.  Team GD Jiu-Jitsu has been rated #1 School in the Adult Division at the AZSBJJF Ranking in 2009,2010 & 2011. Additionally, our competitors have titles in the World’s 2 most prestigious tournaments operated by the IBJJF, the Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championship and the World Championship (Mundial). To date Team GD has secured 21 World Jiu-Jitsu Championship Medals (Mundial) and 20 Pan American Jiu-Jitsu Medals at the toughest category in the World, the Adult division (World Gi: 12, World No-Gi: 9, Pan Gi: 18, Pan No-Gi: 2). Along with the achievements made at IBJJF tournaments, Team GD has been able to secure 1 medal at the Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Pro Cup, the World´s crown elite professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship.
